Corinne Harragin & Nick Hart, are bringing us a unique performance in May.
Inspired by the well-known Scots/English border ballad of Tam Lin, this show is unscripted and orally told, accompanied by live, mostly improvised music.
In this way, the audience plays a central role in the performance. The ballad, Tam Lin, is only a part of it. Described by audiences as 'joyous', 'refreshing', and 'bold', Tam Lin Retold focuses on unsung voices in Scots/English folklore.
"I’ve never been to a storytelling performance before, and I would come again. It was a fantastic experience that played with my imagination that hasn’t been used in that way for a while." James Snook, Alma Tavern Theatre

Last year we at the Ladder had the massive privilege of hosting The Hooligan art community, an artist’s collective routed in Ukraine. They performed their last show Bunker Caberet, which explored the artists’ individual experiences of the war while communicating a shared humanity, creating poignant moments of connection between artists and audiences.
Now they are back with a new show on football hooliganism. Working alongside the pearl exchange, a creative community in Bude offering a range of opportunities for people in the southwest. Together they are bringing us a new performance in september exploring football hooliganism.
